Covers the Netlify CLI for site setup, deployment, and local development. Handles both Git-based continuous deployment and manual deploy workflows, plus environment variable management across deploy contexts.
The CLI lets you manage deploys, environment variables, and local dev from one tool without touching the Netlify dashboard, and supports non-Git workflows that the dashboard UI does not expose directly.
When to use it
- Deploying a static site to production without a Git remote
- Exporting environment variables from Netlify to a local .env file
- Running local dev with Netlify Functions and redirects injected via netlify dev
