Microsoft 365 Agents SDK for TypeScript/Node.js. Provides AgentApplication routing, Express hosting, streaming responses via Azure OpenAI, and Copilot Studio client integration for building agents that run across Teams, M365, and Copilot Studio.
Using this SDK instead of raw Bot Framework or the REST API gives you typed AgentApplication routing, built-in Express hosting, and a Copilot Studio client that handles conversation lifecycle, so you avoid wiring up auth, activity dispatch, and streaming chunking by hand.
When to use it
- Routing Teams messages to different handlers based on keywords or activity type
- Streaming long Azure OpenAI completions back to a Teams conversation in real time
- Connecting a custom Node.js agent to a Copilot Studio bot via the Direct to Engine API
- Handling Teams invoke activities for Adaptive Card submissions
- Embedding a Copilot Studio agent in a web page using the WebChat DirectLine bridge
