A starter scaffold for building new agent skills. It defines the minimal file structure and frontmatter fields required for a skill to be recognized and loaded. Use it as the base when creating a skill from scratch.
Starting from the template avoids missing required frontmatter fields that cause skills to fail silently at load time.
When to use it
- Starting a new skill without manually writing the frontmatter structure
- Checking the required fields before publishing a skill to a registry
- Copying the template to stub out multiple skills in one session
- Onboarding contributors who have not written a skill before
- Validating that a skill file meets the minimum spec before wiring it into an agent
