Python SDK for building agents that run in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, and Copilot Studio. Uses aiohttp for hosting, AgentApplication for routing messages to handlers, and MSAL for authentication. Supports streaming responses via Azure OpenAI and direct Copilot Studio connections.
The SDK handles JWT validation, MSAL token management, and activity routing so you don't have to wire up the Bot Framework protocol manually.
When to use it
- Routing Teams messages to different handlers based on regex or command strings
- Calling Microsoft Graph API after OAuth sign-in within a Teams conversation
- Streaming Azure OpenAI responses token-by-token inside a Teams chat
- Connecting a Python agent directly to a Copilot Studio agent via CopilotClient
- Handling invoke activities and conversation updates in an M365-hosted agent
