Azure Web PubSub Service SDK for Python. Provides server-side control over WebSocket connections hosted on Azure, including broadcasting messages, managing groups, and generating client access tokens. Works alongside a client SDK for Python-based WebSocket consumers.
Instead of managing your own WebSocket server infrastructure, you delegate connection scaling and message routing to Azure and control it with a few SDK calls.
When to use it
- Broadcasting live score updates to all connected users in a sports app
- Sending targeted notifications to a specific user across multiple devices
- Adding a connection to a group channel when a user joins a chat room
- Revoking a client's group permissions when their session expires
- Checking whether a user has active connections before sending a message
