Azure AI Text Translation SDK for Python wraps the Azure Translator REST API. It handles real-time translation across 100+ languages, script transliteration, language detection, dictionary lookups, and sentence boundary detection.
Batching up to 100 strings per request and using the async client cuts API round-trips significantly compared to calling a translation endpoint one string at a time.
When to use it
- Translating user-submitted form content into a target language before storing it
- Detecting the language of incoming support tickets to route them correctly
- Converting Japanese text from Latin script input to Kanji output
