Azure.AI.Projects is the .NET SDK for Azure AI Foundry, providing a unified client for managing agents, connections, datasets, deployments, evaluations, and indexes within an AI Foundry project. It supports both high-level versioned agents and low-level persistent agent operations.
Instead of juggling separate SDK calls across Azure OpenAI, Azure Search, and blob storage, a single AIProjectClient exposes all Foundry resources through one authenticated entry point.
When to use it
- Creating and running persistent agents with custom tools like Bing search or Azure AI Search
- Uploading training datasets to Azure Blob Storage through named connections
- Listing and filtering model deployments by publisher within an AI Foundry project
- Running relevance or groundedness evaluations against a dataset using built-in evaluators
- Managing Azure AI Search indexes as versioned artifacts within a project
