Manages cryptographic keys in Azure Key Vault from TypeScript/Node.js. Covers key creation (RSA, EC), encryption, decryption, signing, verification, and automated rotation policies. Also handles key wrapping and backup/restore across vaults.
Key operations stay inside Azure's HSM boundary, so private key material never touches your application code.
When to use it
- Rotating RSA keys on a 90-day policy without manual intervention
- Encrypting sensitive payloads before storing them in a database
- Signing JWTs or document hashes with a Key Vault-managed private key
- Wrapping AES key material for secure transmission between services
- Restoring a key backup to a different vault during a disaster recovery drill
