Manages Google Contacts and contact groups through the People API. Supports creating, updating, searching, and deleting contacts, as well as managing contact group membership and syncing directory profiles within a Google Workspace domain.
Scripting contact operations with gws people handles bulk updates and directory lookups in one command, rather than clicking through the Contacts UI one record at a time.
When to use it
- Searching the domain directory to find a colleague's phone number or email
- Adding a new vendor contact with phone, email, and organization details
- Moving an auto-created 'Other contact' into a named contact group
- Batch-updating contact records after a company rebranding
- Listing all contacts in a group to build a distribution roster
