What This Skill Does
chDB SQL runs ClickHouse SQL queries directly against local files, remote databases, and cloud storage from Python without a running ClickHouse server. Supports ClickHouse table functions (mysql(), s3(), postgresql(), iceberg(), deltaLake()), Sessions, parametrized queries, window functions, and advanced SQL features.
Gives you full ClickHouse SQL, including table functions and advanced features, as a library — no server setup, no cluster, and no data movement required.
When to use it
- Querying a folder of Parquet files with ClickHouse SQL from a notebook
- Joining S3 data with a remote Postgres table using the s3() and postgresql() table functions
- Building a stateful analytical pipeline with Session across multiple queries
- Running window functions and parametrized queries against local CSV/JSON files
- Exploring Iceberg or Delta Lake datasets without deploying infrastructure
