What This Skill Does
A set of Rust coding guidelines drawn from Apollo GraphQL's internal handbook. Covers idiomatic patterns for borrowing and ownership, error handling with Result types, performance profiling, Clippy linting setup, testing strategies, and type state patterns.
It gives you a single, opinionated reference for common Rust decisions instead of piecing together advice from scattered blog posts and Clippy output.
When to use it
- Reviewing a pull request for unnecessary .clone() calls and ownership issues
- Setting up workspace-wide Clippy lints for a new Rust project
- Refactoring error handling from unwrap() chains to proper Result propagation
- Writing descriptive test functions with snapshot testing via cargo insta
- Choosing between static dispatch generics and dyn Trait for a plugin system
